On the top presentation?

Instead of a controller float has anyone tried using along bodied waggled upside down with just enough shot to cock it but not sick it at all so all the stem is sticking out of the water and the line comes off the top to the dog biscuit. On having a take the float will dip to the side and much of the line is held off the surface.

I think someone else (Mark?) described this on another thread with a diagram.

I know Mark does exactly this with quill but it is not that high above the water. I thought that a long bodied waggler would lift more line of the surface and be more sensitive.

That's it but Mark's setup has most of the float underwater whereas I want most of it above the water so it flicks like a pendulum when a fish takes.

I think you you can still basically do that with the set up Mark describes by just using only enough shot to just cock a much longer float.
I used Mark's set -up on a day when I didn't need to cast a long distance and the water was fairly calm, so I just put enough shot to add a bit of weight to the float - to enable me to cast the distance I needed. The float was almost flat on the surface but I still only had to watch the red tip to see a bite rather than concentrating and straining to see if the carp was taking the bait.

I use Bakers Meaty Meal dog biscuits. There is no need to soak them they can be placed straight onto the hook as they are soft, two of these on a No. 6 work a treat and will cast as far as I need them to without coming off the hook.

That is the ones bjp, I use them too either whole or bitten in half or smaller can be used as pop ups too

They also last for ages if you don't use them I just keep them in air tight containers
