The most precious places in the English landscape are those secretive corners,
where you find only elder trees, nettles and dreams. (BB - Denys Watkins-Pitchford).

It never occurred to me before but if ever anyone produced a range of greeting cards focussed on anglers and angling... the snow shot of Richard Walker at the top of this topic MUST be the all time contender for the Christmas slot. Brilliant.

Mmmm, a range of cards for anglers... there's a thought.

Fantastic images SK - the first one is an absolute gem - colour tinting and all.
"I can't wait to buy a bamboo pole and a filament of line and a tube of breadcrumbs. I want to participate in this practice which allows a man to be alone with himself in dignity and peace. It seems a very precious thing to me".

Good Morning,

I have a question for the experts, is Dick Walker anyway related to the Walkers of Bruce & Walker or is it only coincidence that they have the same surname?

Thank you

Steve

....as in James Bruce and Ken Walker.
The Ealing shop of B James and Son is of course James Bruce later taken over by Cliff Glenton.
No relation whatsoever which applies also to J B Walker of Hythe who also supplied cane and glass rod making materials as well as tackle.

I like the pictures of his study it reminds me of my own house a bit..I do love walls and shelves full of interesting things. I would loved to have shared a few words with him about his world and the life he led.
