If so, you can buy a day ticket on the bank.
You'll probably find some chub and perch, as well as pike.
I can probably dig out a club book from a previous season with details of the stretch of you like.

Giving this a bump to see if anyone is still fishing it? I have been to the Kidlington stretches and the river does not seem the same as it once was. I fished it today and im sure an otter came through the stretch - there was a sploosh and disturbance just below me then i saw a mass of bubbles travelling up stream rapidly? Anyway some interest from crayfish and some taps at dusk was all that happened sadly. Keen to hear any other views, or recent experiences.

I expect that the otter will be feasting on the crayfish. This should help with fish numbers in the long term. The run off from agriculture is much more destructive to the river's ecosystem than otters are!

Indeed - i agree - run off and pollution, all man made, is more harmfull than nature.

I assumed the crays would be easy meals for them. What is odd though, on the stretches of Thames i fish is the recent increase in crays the last two seasons in particular. Maybe we are due a boom in big chub and perch again if crays are back jn numbers?

It would be a lovely river for me to fish again but I simply can’t find any reports of notable catches. I had an afternoon there a couple of years ago for just one dace!
I spent today fishing the Trent with an angler that had some great results from the Cherwell and he along with many others have just stopped going.
I really hope it comes good again at some time.
