Has anyone ever fished Blenheim Palace lake? I have always fancied having a go from one of the boats.

Fished it twice with dabchick from Redmire forum.
We fished in early March for pike and perch but aside from dabchick catching a 21 lb pike we blanked.
It is a lovely place to fish with some interesting nooks and crannies.
I was slightly put off last time because the lake was crystal clear and we rowed all over it looking down onto a naked, barren bottom with no sign of life at all!
There is a lot in there apparently though. I would like to fish it in the summer for the tench.

I would certainly be up for a summer session next year if anyone would like to join me there.

I've fished it for pike and best so far was 17 1/2lb. I agree with Snape...out in the boat the bottom looked clear and barren. If anyone fancies an autumn/winter go at the pike I'd be up for that. It is lovely being out on the lake on a crisp autumn day....

Fished it several times in late June for tench. Best day was 18 tench to 7lb+ but I've never got close to that again. Very poor this year - only two tench caught between eight of us. The highlight of the day was a rod snatched from the punt by an unseen monster; despite extensive dragging operations we didn't recover it.

Would like to do a winter piking trip there sometime.

One of the places I'd like to visit.

Not too bothered what I fish for as I understand there are good specimens of tench, perch and pike.
