I've heard a few rumours now about very large carp in the Wanstead Golf course lake, has anyone heard the same and is there a way to fish it without ferrying around some rods in a gold trolley wearing a pink Pringle jumper!
Anyone for a game of golf?
When I say big I'm talking very big!

I looked on google maps.
Is the one you mean the big one across the golf course from the choulder of mutton pond?
I wouldn';t be suprised if it has big carp as its it close proximity to Wanstead Ornamentals which has had big twenties out over the years.

Derek Stritton run a syndicate on the lake for some years
Get his book "Too many rods" and theres a whole chapter about it
it was always a lake as kids that we looked at longingly from the road
i would imagine that the way carp fishing has gone- they would not want the campsite look that fishing would bring!

You have a point.
Its been mentioned on this forum before, by Snape and others, some waters are verry hard to get permission to fish because of the peception of certains parts of angling and the fact that some anglers are their own worst enemies.
Shame, if it was a syndicate there must be or have been decent fish in it.
