The Ruined Abbey Lake

Post by Badger »

The Monks have long gone but the remains of the ruined Abbey still stand by the ancient lake. Who knows what leviathans are contained within its murky depths ?

Wow what a lovely lake is it open to anglers?
Not a fish was visible that first time I visited Beechmere; an utter
stillness brooded over the place and I felt the strange and sinister atmosphere which, so the story goes,
has been the cause of several suicides.’

Sadly, no angling allowed. The lake is massive though.

I was going to say I wouldn't mind living in that house until I saw it without a roof. looks lovely and what a daft place to put a garden shed or is it just flooded
Chance is always powerful. Let your hook be always cast; in the pool where you least expect it, there will be a fish

Looks a wonderful place.

The most precious places in the English landscape are those secretive corners,
where you find only elder trees, nettles and dreams. (BB - Denys Watkins-Pitchford).
