Hermit wrote:Wonderful George - fish dreams are made of. To complete the image could I ask for a few details of tactics -bait, size of hook, trotting?
I use normal trotting tactics, with a small twist, I have a 5" dropper with an artificial nymph attached about 8" away from hook bait which is predominately maggot, The clyde fish ignored the maggot & took the nymph, the annan fish the opposite. Hooks are usually 16 with 3lbs leader attached to fireline fused crystal braid.

Many thanks George most ingenious! After having a bit of a lean spell on the Derwent these past few weekends I need to review my tactics and will consume all advice with relish. I look forward to reading your blog. Thanks again.

Great fish George. I think you'll soon need a bigger net, if they get any bigger!
