Can anyone help return a lost Jason White bank stick?

Post by Trammels »

Last season a beautiful Jason White bank stick was left at my shop after being found on the banks of one of the fisheries we sell tickets for.

Despite numerous enquiries no one seemed to know who the owner might be and nobody contacted either the fishery or ourselves about its loss. So it's sat there and every so often I've tried to find out who it might have been owned by. As it mentioned the Golden Scales on it I got a mate who fishes with Chris Yates to see if he could shed any light on its loss but once again drew a blank.

Earlier today I was browsing the Redmire forums and saw a photo of a similar bank stick so I went and checked it against the picture but, no, it was merely similar. As I had it in my hands I thought I'd have a look on this forum and a search for Jason White threw up this sub forum which I started browsing without much expectation. I then opened a thread called "Some of the Products" and almost fell off my chair, there, in one of the pictures was the exact bank stick that I had in my hands!

I am convinced it is the one on the left of the photo, absolutely convinced. The photo was posted by Mark, so fingers crossed I can finally return this work of art to its rightful owner.

So, Mark, was it yours or do you knows whose it was?

Jason sent me the pictures to post on the forum, unfortunately I have no idea who the bank stick belongs to.

Damnit I thought my search was over.

Do you know Jason well enough to ask if he knows who he made it for Mark?

Jason does not have a computer so I cannot send him the picture, I am sure he has made loads of these bank sticks.

Perhaps forum member Champ can help as he see's Jason at his work shop now and again.

I am sure I recall Bumble posting on this forum to say that he had left his Jason White bank stick water side. I also recall comments that suggested it may end up on ebay - if this is the one then clearly not and it would be wonderful to see it returned to the man himself. :Hat:

You are correct TemeLad, Bumble responded to my post viewtopic.php?p=115748#p115748

Not his unfortunately so he is still looking.

Hopefully the one you have will be his and they can be reunited!

What does it say on it?
I can make out 'golden scale' but can't read what's above or below it.
It could be their Latin motto, or perhaps a GSC members nickname?

Looks like "Hedge" - is that not the nom-de-peche of a GSC member?
