Re-proofing a Cagjac

Post by Wandler »

I have a "vintage" Cagjac waterproof which is made of heavy nylon material. After only 30 years it is now starting to let the water in. Has anyone got any experience of re-proofing a jacket like this? What should I use and how?

I have heard that Fabsil is good spray on waterproofer for nylon jackets... that said I use Nikwax detergent and the Nikwax proofing agent for my match gear (after a day catching skimmers it gets manky)... the proofing agent is a wash in mix.... you wash the garment in the Nikwax detergent, and then in the wateproofing.... It looks and smells like a dilute PVA glue...! seems to do the job
Just one more cast love, and I'll be on me way home
