All Hallows Carp.
Caught this deformed critter on Halloween evening- Not on traditional tackle but its ghoulish appearance seemed rather apt for the occasion. The fish was 12.5lb and fought as hard as any healthy common, the growths were all coved in scales and there were no open or weeping wounds. Went back well and swam away to scare the other carp and maybe another angler!

Gross well done
Chance is always powerful. Let your hook be always cast; in the pool where you least expect it, there will be a fish

Yuk, very apt. Nice fishing Trainset.
God never did make a more calm, quiet, innocent recreation than angling.

I wonder what caused those growths and how they affect the carp.

Re: All Hallows Carp.
There were three growths in total two on one side and one on the other all around the same area. My thought was perhaps a pike got hold of it many years ago and they got infected then healed over? I've never seen anything like it before, I have come across one other carp with a large lump on one side of its body but that appeared to be a deformity with no sign of previous infection and no alteration to the scaling.
