That would be great DKM! - some of the Croxby fish were said to be 25lbs or so; and any light thrown on the mystery of their origins would be much appreciated, and fascinating.

Here's my pitch at Cheshunt sometime in the mid-seventies. Tackle comprised two home built JB Walker cane Mk4's and Mitchell 300s. Line was olive Platil 10.4 lbs b.s with running bomb and baited with luncheon meat. Alternatve set-up would be free-lining a large salmon iron threaded into a part cooked potato. Heron indicators of course with silver foil (you can just see it folded for safe keeping onto the rear rod rest. Beneath the rods was a sheet of heavy duty black plastic to prevent line snagging in vegetation and two flower pots into which the cylinder of silver foil was placed when conditions were windy.
